Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi
Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park located in southwestern Uganda. Quite a long drive but worth it because you get to enjoy the countryside scenery, some of the most beautiful nature’s images all the way to the Virunga, the oldest protected area in Africa. Keep your cameras near you and our driver will definitely stop if you need him to so that you camp capture that beautiful moment.
You will have an en route stopover at the Equator crossing for the photographic and simple experiment before continuing to Mbarara town for Lunch. After lunch, you will embark on your scenic drive to Bwindi for dinner and overnight stay at Rushaga gorilla camp. (B.L.D)
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi National Park
After early morning breakfast, you will drive to the Park headquarters for briefing and joining others for a gorilla trekking briefing about the dos and the don’ts during your Uganda Gorilla Trekking Tour. Once this is done, you will trek through thick creepers and undergrowth with your guides to find the Gorillas, which can take you from half an hour to three quarters of the day.
The steeply forested landscape is incredibly dense but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. On your trek, you are likely to spot other primates, birds and rare tree species. After finding the gorillas, you will be allowed to spend one hour with them before trekking back to the Park headquarter.
This is indeed an extraordinary feeling being with these beautiful yet endangered Creatures. You will be awarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking and thus contributing to the conservation of mountain gorillas, dinner and overnight at Rushaga gorilla camp. (B.L.D)
Day 3: Transfer to Queen and Boat cruise
After breakfast transfer Queen Elizabeth National park via the Ishasha sector as you will have a chance to observe tree-climbing lions in the wild. Arrive in the afternoon for the boat cruise, you will have a chance to view a variety of animals along the banks of the Kazinga channel. Retire at Kazinga view resort for Dinner and overnight stay. Day 4: morning game drive and transfer to Kibale
After breakfast, check out of your lodge and drive to the park for the game drive to see the morning risers view the big five the residents. Later drive to Kibale National park, have lunch and embark on Bigodi Nature walk (optional at extra fees of $30) dinner and overnight at kibale Homestay. (B.L.D)
Day 5: Chimpanzee trekking and Kampala transfer
After breakfast, you will drive to Kanyanchu Tourist Centre at 08.00 am for a briefing before trekking the chimpanzees in the forest. The park is only accessible on foot and the walk will provide you with the opportunity to also see a variety of other primates and animals as well as birds, and a variety of butterflies, and other insects. Drive to Entebbe in the afternoon to check up with your flight back home.
End of safari.
